Reading tribute to Nikos Kazantzakis

The National Theatre of Northern Greece presents the event “Xeskepos ouranos”, in collaboration with the Museum of Byzantine Culture and the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum. This event, directed by Melina Apostolidou, will be held at the Foyer of the Museum of Byzantine Culture, in Thessaloniki, on Wednesday, 5 June 2019, 8:30 pm.

In the form of reading, excerpts from the works of Nikos Kazantzakis will be read, namely from: Report to Greco, Salvatores Dei, Constantine Palaeologus, Travelling: Italy, Egypt, Sinai, Jerusalem, Cyprus, The Peloponnese, Tertsina.

This event is held on the occasion of the temporary exhibition “Kazantzakis and Byzantium: a Quest for the Divine”, which take place in the Museum of Byzantine Culture (“Eftychia Kourkoutidou-Nikolaidou” exhibition hall). This exhibition, organized by the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum, the Museum of Byzantine Culture, and the Region of Crete, will last until the 15th of September, 2019.

 

A special guided tour of the temporary exhibition “Kazantzakis and Byzantium: a Quest for the Divine” by the curator of this exhibition, archaeologist Evangelos Charitopoulos, is included in the event, which will precede the table-read and will start at 19:30.
