International Museum Day 2025 at the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum
“Museums and Society in Constant Change”

To celebrate International Museum Day 2025, the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum will offer free admission to all visitors on Sunday, May 18, inviting everyone to explore the Museum and learn more about the life and work of Nikos Kazantzakis.

As part of the celebration, the Museum will also host a free educational program titled “History Lessons with Kazantzakis” on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in its Permanent Exhibition space (the program is availiable only in the greek language)

This program is designed for families, specifically targeting youth aged 13 to 18 and their parents, and participation is free of charge, though pre-registration is required due to limited availability. The initiative gives a voice to teenagers, encouraging them to engage with the Museum through the use of modern digital tools.

The goal of the program is to help participants explore the literary work of Nikos Kazantzakis and, through selected novels, examine the historical and social context of his time. By collecting information from the Museum’s exhibits, participants will create their own podcast, developing scripts to deliver their own “History Lessons with Kazantzakis.”

Through new technologies, we aim to build the future by understanding the past—even when it seems distant.

Participants will be introduced to the methodology behind podcast creation and will produce their own podcasts, which will be featured on the Museum’s Educational Portal and made available to the public.

No prior technical knowledge or specialized equipment is required. The program is designed to utilize accessible and easy-to-use technology, ensuring an inclusive experience for all.

Advance registration is essential, as spaces are limited.
