Main Anniversary Event

The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum, as part of its anniversary celebrations for its 40 years of operation, is organizing a central anniversary event which will take place in Anemogiannis Park in Myrtia on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 8:00 p.m.

At the heart of the anniversary event is the awarding of honors to people who have supported the Museum, its operation, and its actions throughout time. Specifically, there will be a ceremony that will include:

-Proclamation of Mr. Giorgos Stasinakis, President of the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis, as an honorary member of the Board of Directors of the Kazantzakis Museum.

- Presentation of an honorary plaque to Mr. Stavros Arnautakis, Regional Governor of Crete, for his long-term contribution.

- Presentation of an honorary plaque to Mrs. Varvara Tsakas, who, serving as the Director of the Museum for twenty consecutive years, led it to its Recognition.

The event will also include a presentation of the 40-year history of the Museum and will conclude with a concert by the New Cretan Quartet of the Municipality of Heraklion (D.K.E.H.) with the participation of Giannis Mageiropoulos (violin), Georgios Hliavoras (violin), Stefanos Symeonidis (viola), Kostis Spyridakis (cello).
