1) Outdoor Exhibition of Photography-Installation

Duration: July 13 - September 10, 2023

The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the successful course of the four "Travelling..." Festivals organized by the Kazantzakis Museum from 2016 to 2019. The exhibition gives the opportunity to the photographers who participated in the "Travelling..." Festivals to exhibit their works in the neighborhoods of the village. Approximately two hundred photographic works will be presented in four different installations that will be placed in four different locations (stations) in the village of Myrtia. The stations will be enriched by constructions that were created in previous years for the needs of the Festivals.

2) Kids Zone - Hidden Treasure Hunt

"Travelling...to the world's neighborhoods"
A rare letter from Nikos Kazantzakis was found in the Museum Archives in which he writes about his travels, the places he visited, the people he met, and what he saw and experienced in these distant lands. Come and discover them together in an original hidden treasure hunt in the narrow streets of Myrtia. Children from 6 to 13 years old can take part in the hidden treasure hunt. The formation of the teams will take place on the day of the hunt. There is no need to register and reserve a seat.

3) Artistic Events


19.30-21.00, Neighborhoods of Myrtia
Visitors will tour the four stations of the outdoor photography exhibition in a circle, where they will watch artistic events that will take us on a journey through the four previous festivals.
Directed by: Petros Mavromatidis.
Participants: Euridiki Dimitriadis - neighborhood Spain (dance), Petros Mavromatidis - neighborhood England (theatre), Manos Sgouridis - neighborhood Russia (music), Konstantinos Tsakirelis - neighborhood China (dance act)


4) Culinary ethnic tour

21.00 - 23.00, Nikos Kazantzakis Museum Square
Creative Cretan dishes and drinks that have been influenced by and have influenced the cuisines of Spain, Russia, England and China, countries to which the "Travelling" festivals have been dedicated, will be offered to the visitors of the event. This culinary tour will be prepared by members of the Development Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Crete.

5) "And the journey continues..."

The events are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Archana-Asterousia, the Cultural Association of Myrtia, and the Development Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Crete.
