From November 18 to 20, the International Scientific Conference of the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis was successfully held in Larissa with the theme: "Nature in the work of Nikos Kazantzakis".  The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum was among the supporters of the Conference.


The Conference took place in the Municipal Gallery of Larissa - Museum G.I. Katsigra, which recently also received the certification mark from the Greek Ministry of Culture.

The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum participated with two oral announcements by members of its scientific staff.

The paper of Kostis Kanakis, PhD (c) in History and of Permanent Exhibition & Communication Manager of the Museum, had the title: "Mountains in the life of Nikos Kazantzakis and their significance".


The presentation by Evangelos Haritopoulos, Archaeologist - Restorer and of Exhibitions & Programs Manager of the Museum, was titled: "Aspects and effects of the landscape of Heraklion in the work of Nikos Kazantzakis".


At the Conference, Christos Solakis and Sofia Dalambekis also presented the paper: "The nature of Mount Athos through the diary of Nikos Kazantzakis Mount Athos Nvris-Dvris 1914" , a book published by The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum.

Finally, an interview with the President of I.S.F.N.K. was shown. Mr. Giorgos Stasinakis, which is part of the production of our Museum's interactive video that will soon be released. The interactive video is implemented with the support of the Region of Crete and the support of I.S.F.N.K.
