The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum Congratulates Michalis Taroudakis

The Board of Directors, the Management, and the team of the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum warmly congratulate Mr. Michalis Taroudakis on his appointment as Emeritus Professor of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics by the University of Crete—an honor that acknowledges a long and meaningful career in science, research, and education.

Mr. Michalis Taroudakis served as Rector of the University of Crete and as Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. His presence also illuminated the Nikos Kazantzakis Museum, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2017 to 2024, with vision and deep interest in the work of Nikos Kazantzakis.

The honorary award ceremony took place on May 14, 2025, at the "Nikos Petridis" Amphitheater of the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, at the Voutes Campus in Heraklion. It was a moment of recognition for a rich journey that continues to inspire.

The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum wishes him health and continued creative presence both at the University of Crete and at the Museum.
